How does it work?
Pacific Rim is a distance education institution which offers all its courses entirely online. Students
regularly communicate with instructors via email and phone regarding course work and assignments. At the end of the
course, students must write an examination under the supervision of an exam proctor in their community.
Students purchase the required textbooks through
their local bookstore (college, university or community), the University of Victoria bookstore, or directly from
the publisher for the Nelson, Delmar or Thomson Learning textbooks.
Before students enroll in courses they must register as a student. During the registration process students will
be required to upload two reference letters (in the form of .doc, .docx or .pdf) and write 200-500 words on why
they are interested in entering the field of ECE. There is a registration fee of $250 for domestic
students and $350 for international students.
When students register they receive a student number and password which they can use to log on to their
student account. In this account students can update their information, enroll in courses and access their
T2202A forms.
Course enrollment is continuous. Students may take as many courses as they like at one time, as long as they
are able to complete them before their end date. It is encouraged that students only enroll in one course at a time.
