Why are practicums unpaid?

All private training institutions in British Columbia are regulated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB). Under section 3.2.4 of the PTIB's manual, a student may not be paid during practicum. Advocating for government regulatory change is the best way to influence such policies.
